The photo / video hype ratio SUCKS!

Guys,

Am I the only one who feels that a video should get more cred than photos when you hype them?
A video has way more effort etc than a pic
ATM photos get WAY more cred when you hype than the videos - I think this is ultra demoralising and highly unfair. In fact, it could be the unmaking of Make-a-Dare? We coudl all start just uploading photos.... then how BORING would it be?
Im not saying NOT to upload photos, what I'm saying is
SORT OUT THE RATIOS

AND Q U I C K

If the community is behind this request then obviously the MAD team is behind it. Let's get everyone's opinion on this.

It just makes simple sense to me - a video has more worth than a pic surely

It's a debatable topic. You can just diss the picture and you could also dss the dare itself. It does make sense for what your saying, but no need to get hostile about it. I'm sure something can be done.

Photos are equally weighted with videos. If you're seeing a disparity, it is more likely due to the number of votes the dare representing it has or to the amount that you hype or diss the person whose videos/pictures you are voting on. Also keep in mind that it is much easier to look at, enjoy and vote on a picture than it is to watch a 4 minute video, enjoy it and vote on it. Again, I do want to hear more opinions on the matter before anything changes.

@ nottroy - a site full of pictures is not for me and it really doesn't encompass properly the dare genre !

There IS a place for them , but the only way to ensure that the site is not over taken by them is by ensuring that video entries get a greater weighted ratio - hey if I wanna just look at photos I can go to google pics! In fact I might try it!

im mite just upload pic dares frm now on! seems thats the wat 2go 4 major street cred no point in makin funny vids just take lame pics

Then just upload pics then. No need to cry about it, this site won't be taken over by pictures because there's too many users that make awesome videos.

I think to call all pics lame is a bit of a stretch, guys. Some of my favorite completed dares on the site are pictures and people who don't want to see pictures can sort to only see videos and vice-versa.

There are some dares where I see no other way to do than with a picture like the find a funny article dare.

Always agree videos are worth more then pictures anyday. NotTroy, you said it's alot more effort to watch a 4 minute video, but if it is something you truly enjoy then it being 4 minutes will not put you off, cause you'll be enjoying it... Lol.

Videos take effort to film, cut down and even take longer to upload and are just generally on the whole more entertaining in my opinion. As you say it takes alot less time to watch a pic and hype then it does with a video, which is probably why they get such high Street Cred levels, cause you can go through about 10 pictures in a minute.

So yeah, I think Videos should get more per Hype.
